| Objective:With the development of national economy and improvement of residents'lives, the crowd disease has also been changed continuously, especially some chronic degenerative diseases related to diet such as osteoporosis, hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes and other diseases, were significantly higher, Population health and nutrition in the prevention of chronic degenerative diseases have become a society-wide issue of great concern. Therefore, for different groups of food nutrition and health research has become increasingly extensive and in-depth. Chongqing is a large population of new municipalities, although having the report of the related crowds in this area, but no reports of the teachers. So we carry out a questionnaire about dietary intake and nutrition knowledge for the 1345 urban primary and secondary school teachers in Chongqing, aimed at understanding the nutritional status of diet and nutrition-related diseases of the primary and secondary schools teachers in Chongqing and to guide the people a reasonable meal and to provide a reference of prevention in nutrition-related chronic disease.Methods:1. Survey of dietary intake: it is conducted by a questionnaire, the subjects are 1345 teachers of primary and secondary school, the survey includes dietary intake, health status of their own concerns, the factors which influenced its reasonable dietary and nutrition-related knowledge.2. Osteoporosis and other nutrition-related disease research: the data comes from the medical information of the 3401 retired primary and secondary school teachers in the urban. It is including the general survey, clinical examination and surgery information, such as blood glucose lipid biochemical test results, special inspections of bone mineral density and related diseases prevalence.3. Data analysis: the data were anal sized by software SPSS13.0.The Quantitative comparison between the two groups uses the independent sample test; count data were expressed by the percentage %, two sample groups using x2 test than qualitative. P <0.05 for the significant difference, P <0.01 for the extreme significant difference.Results:1. Survey of dietary intake:Among the 1345 teachers who are in the survey, more than 70% who intake milk, eggs, soybean and coarse grains, 50-55% who intake 50-100 grams of meat and more than 250 grams of vegetables and fish. 62% who pay attention to their dietary, 38% who knows Dietary Guidelines for Chinese residents; 37% who knows the Chinese pagodas dietary, female were better male; Newspapers and magazines and television broadcasting is the main way to obtain knowledge of nutrition.2. Osteoporosis and other nutrition-related disease research:2.1 Among the 1345 teachers, the prevalence rates of overweight, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease and hyperlipidemia were 34.4%, 9.8%, 31.8%, 7.4%, 4.2% and 46.3% respectively. The prevalence rates of overweight, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease and hyperlipidemia was significantly or very significantly higher than normal body weight and weight low groups (p <0.05 or p <0.01).2.2 The prevalence rate of Osteoporosis is 43.0%, male accounts for 33.4%, female accounts for 46.7%. Increase with age, the incidence of osteoporosis is increasing, with the exception of 70-year-old to 79-year-old and 80-year-old -89 years of age which is no significant differences; there are significant or very significant differences among the various age groups. (p <0.05 or p <0.01).2.3 The prevalence rate of osteoporosis will be decreased with the increase of body mass index. The prevalence rate of osteoporosis of male normal weight, overweight and obesity was significantly lower than the low weight group (p<0.01), while there was a significant or very significant difference among the female body weight who is too low, normal weight, overweight and obesity (p<0.05 or p<0.01). The prevalence rate of osteoporosis of Hypertension, coronary heart disease and hyperlipidemia crowd were 50.5%, 63.6%, 49.9% ,which are very higher than the group who are suffering from the disease (p <0.01).Conclusion:1. Dietary food intake of the group is more and food sources are abundant, knowledge of nutrition is poor, the degree of concern for their own health is not high.2. The prevalence rate of hyperlipidemia osteoporosis, overweight, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease of Primary and secondary school teachers in Chongqing is higher, and overweight and obesity is an important factor which resulted in high blood pressure, diabetes, coronary heart disease and hyperlipidemia. Therefore, the knowledge of nutrition and the guidance for the scientific way of life is of an important practical significance to this group.3. Prevalence rate of osteoporosis is similar to the other groups reported, the prevalence rate of osteoporosis increases with age, prevalence rate of osteoporosis of after 60-year-old group was significantly higher than the 60-year-old before the group, female was significantly higher than male, and the prevalence rate of osteoporosis was lower with the growth of body mass index, and is more obvious particularly after the age of 70.4. The survey also showed that the prevalence rate of osteoporosis of the group of hypertension, coronary heart disease and hyperlipidemia was significantly higher than that of people who were not suffering from the disease, suggesting that these diseases may affect the occurrence of osteoporosis, therefore, effective prevention and control of these diseases is useful to reduce the prevalence rate of osteoporosis. |
