Purpose:To evaluate the correlation between GDxVCC parameters and visual field indices in Suspected open-angle glaucoma and in early, moderate,sever Open angle glaucoma.Methods:35 cases (57 eyes) with Open angle glaucoma(OAG) and 17 cases (20 eyes) with suspected open-angle glaucoma(SOAG) were examined by Humphrey 750 automated field Analyzer and Scanning laser Polarimeter with Variable corneal compensation(GDxVCC) made by the company of zeiss in German. Group A is SOAG(20 eyes).A total of 57 eyes with OAG were divided into three groups based on the Mean deviation(MD) of visual field:Group B (20 eyes), early group,Group C(15 eyes),moderate group and Group D(22 eyes), sever group.The resulting data were analyzed by SPSS 16.0:1) Analyzed patient's age, intraocular pressure diopterd and the ratio of C/D.2) The comparison of average RNFL thickness(TSNIT),superior RNFL average thickness (SA), inferior RNFL average Thickness (IA),standard deviation of RNFL Thickness (TSD),nerve fiber indicator (NFI),mean defect(MD), Patten standard deviation(PSD) in four groups were analyzed.3) The Correlation between GDxVCC parameters and the visual field Indices was analyzed with Spearman correlation.Results:1. In SOAG and OAG the intraocular pressure,age and diopterd are not showed Statistical differences (P>0.05), the ratio of C/D is showed Statistical differences (P=0.00), it is Statistical differences significantly between early and moderate of OAG. 2. The all GDxVCC parameters and visual field. indices Showed Statistical differences significantly in SOAG,early OAG, moderate OAG and sever OAG (P=0.00)3. A weak correlation between GDxVCC parameters and the visual field Indices in early OAG, moderate OAG and sever OAG is discovered:With the visual field Indices, in early OAG,VFI>MD>PSD,in moderate OAG, PSD>MD>VFI, in sever OAG,MD>VFI>PSD. With the GDXVCC parameters:in early OAG, IA>SA>NFI>TSNIT>TSD, in moderate OAG, SA>NFI>TSNIT>IA>TSD, in sever OAG, IA>TSNIT>NFI>SA>TSD.Conclusions:1. GDxVCC can accurately examine retinal nerve fiber layer thickness.2. The Correlation between GDxVCC parameters and the visual visual field Indices is poor in early Open angle glaucoma.3. The worse the Visual field is, the more correlative between GDxVCC parameters and the visual field indices will there be in OAG.4. The best correlative of GDxVCC parameters with the visual field is different in different groups of OAG, in early is IA,in moderate is SA, in sever is IA.5. MDis the best Indices with GDxVCC in Open angle glaucoma.6. The Correlation of TSNIT and NFI with the visaul field is stable in OAG..7. TSNIT standard deviation is the worst GDxVCC parameters with the visaul field in OAG.8. GDxVCC combine with Humphrey Automated Perimetry can rise the ratio of early diagnosis of OAG.
