Objectives To study the expression of CD69 of T cells and soluble CD40 ligand in patiens with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome, and investigate their roles in physiopathologic process of OSAHS.Methods According polysomnography test results, subjects were divided into healthy adults (n=20), mild OSAHS patiens (n=16), moderate OSAHS patiens (n=19) and severe OSAHS patiens(n=21).Peripheral blood samples were collected early in the morning from the subjects above, the expression of CD69 in T cells were detected by flow cytometry and sCD40L were measured by a quantitative enzyme-linked immunoassay technique.9 cases of patients with moderate or severe OSAHS were treated with CPAP for one night and fasting blood were collected for detecting CD69 and sCD40LResults (1) The expression of CD69 of T cells were significantly higher in patients with OSAHS(7.99%±3.21%) than healthy adults (4.36%±1.65%, P=0.000),and correlated with AHI(r=0.643, P=0.000), the duration of nocturnal hypoxia(r=0.608,P=0.000), BMI(r=0.564,p=0.000), and the lowest nocturnal oxygen saturation(r=-0.575,p=0.000). (2).Baseline levels of sCD40L were significantly higher in patients with OSAHS(7.14±1.80ng/ml) than healthy adults(4.00±1.04ng/ml,P=0.000),and correlated with AHI(r=0.640,P=0.000) and the lowest nocturnal oxygen saturation(r=-0.609,p=0.000). (3) The expression of CD69 in T cells were positively correlated with baseline levels of sCD40L(r=0.496,P=0.000).(4) The expression of CD69 in T cells and the levels of sCD40L were improved for one night CPAP therapy [(9.75%±2.93% vs 8.99%±2.03%(8.15±0.92ng/ml vs 7.93+0.50 ng/ml))], but there was no statistic significance. Conclusions Patients with OSAHS had higher expression of CD69 in T cells and sCD40L than healthy adults. Their change was positively correlated with the severity of the OSAHS,which could be ameliorated after CPAP therapy and might be involed in the pathophysiological process.
