ObjectiveTo observe the epidural analgesic effect and its adverse effect of levobupivacaine combined with fentanyl after transurethral resection of prostate.Methods40 ASAI-II patients aged 60 to 75years scheduled to undergo transurethral resection of prostate were involved. The patients'cardiopulmonary function were normal. Those who were dehydrated and had chronic pain history or contraindication of epidural anaesthesia were excluded. All the patients were randomized to receive epidural analgesia of levobupivacaine (Group L) and ropivacaine (Group R)All the patients were performed with combined spinal-epidural anaesthesia at the L2,3 intervertebral space. Continous epidural analgesia of 0.125%levobupivacaine and 0.15% ropivacaine combined with fentanyl 2μg/ml were given postoperatively. The following was recorded:(1) SBP,DBP,HR,SPO2 immediately and 6h,12h,24h after operation. (2) Patients'VAS pain score on the bladder contraction.(3) Modified Bromage score after operation. (4) Patients'satisfaction degree for the analgesic effect. (5) Unexpected effects after operation such as nausea, vomiting dizziness, lower limb numbing.ResultThe hemodynamics is stable in the L group and there is no statistical differenceat the different time point after operation. Patients' VAS pain score on the bladder contraction in L group is 2.1±0.9, slightly less than that of R group, but there is no statistical difference between them. There is no statistical difference in modified Bromage score and patients'satisfaction degree after operation between the two groups. The unexpected effects in both groups are less and there is no statistical difference between them.ConclusionThe epidural analgesia effect and its adverse effect of 0.125%levobupivacaine combined with 2μg/ml fentanyl is similar to those of 0.15% ropivacaine with 2μg/ml fentanyl after transurethral resection of prostate.
