Abstract Objective To investigate the correlation between MMP-2, oxLDL, ApoB, ApoB/ApoA-I with acute coronary syndrome. Methods Using ELISA, serum MMP-2, oxLDL were measured in 30 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI),30 patients with acute unstable angina (UA) and 30 normol control group. The ApoB and ApoA-â… of the patients'preprandial blood were examined by automatic biochemistry analyzer and their ratio was computered. Results Serum MMP-2 was significantly increased in both AMI group and UA group compared with those in control group(P<0.01). Serum MMP-2 was significantly increased in AMI group compared with that in UA group(P<0.01). Serum oxLDL was significantly increased in both AMI group and UA group compared with those in control group(P<0.05). But there was no statistical difference between AMI group and UA group(P>0.05). Serum ApoB was significantly increased in both AMI group and UA group compared with those in control group(P<0.05). But there was no statistical difference between AMI group and UA group(P>0.05).The ratio of ApoB/ApoA-â… was significantly increased in AMI group compared with that in control group(P<0.01), the ratio of ApoB/ApoA-I was significantly increased in UA group compared with that in control group(P<0.05), and the ratio of ApoB/ApoA-â… was significantly increased in AMI group compared with that in UA group(P<0.01). Logistic regression analysis showed that the odds ratio (OR) of MMP-2, oxLDL, ApoB, ApoB/ApoA-I was more than 1, indicating that MMP-2, oxLDL, ApoB, ApoB/ApoA-I were risk factors of ACS. Conclusions Serum MMP-2, oxLDL, ApoB, ApoB/ApoA-I are increased in patients with ACS and their rises are the risk factors of ACS.
