| ObjectiveTo investigate concentration changes and clinical significance of serum C-reactive protein(CRP)in children with acute asthma attack.MethodsSerum CRP and Total IgE were detected in 182 patients in asthma acute phase and 146 normal control group, and specific S-IgE were deteced in asthma children. According to allergic levels and disease condition, asthma children were divided into allergen-induced group,Upper respiratory tract infection (URTI)-Induced group, combined pneumonia group, the results of corresponding sub-group were analyzed by statistical methods.ResultsCompared with the healthy children, the serum CRP levels of allergen-induced group(5.45±4.32mg/l),URTI-Induced group (8.61±8.03mg/l)and combined pneumonia group(19.55±17.61mg/l)were significantly elevated in acute episode of asthma statistically (P<0.001); Compared with the allergen-induced group, the serum CRP levels of URTI-Induced group(P<0.05)and combined pneumonia group(P<0.001)were significantly elevated; Compared with the URTI-Induced group, the serum CRP levels of combined pneumonia group(P<0.001) were significantly elevated;2)The serum CRP concentration range of allergen-induced group was 2-10mg/L,the OR values and 95%CI were 8.92(4.39to18.13); the serum CRP concentration range of URTI-Induced group was 5-16mg/L,the OR values and 95%CI were 15.24(5.55to42.34); When serum CRP level≥16mg/L,the combined pneumonia group OR values and 95%CI were 145.0 (18.99to1107.30); Compared with the normal, P values of the case group were<0.001,the differences were statistically significant;3)Compared with the healthy children(76.55±21.76IU/L), the total serum IgE levels of allergen-induced group (755. 54±762.95IU/L) and combined pneumonia group(253.65±235.65IU/L)were significan-tly increased during acute attack statistically (P<0.001); The serum total IgE level was highest in allergen-induced group. when the serum total IgE level>900IU/L, OR values and 95%confidence interval in the allergy-induced group was 74.57 (9.63to577. 66)(P<0.001); The positive rates of allergen-specific serum IgE in allergen-induced group,URTI-induced group and combined pneumonia group were 84.9%,30.1%,37. 9%respectively, the rate of allergen-induced group was the highest of all statistically (P<0.001).Conclusions1.By the use of allergen-specific serum IgE testing, the level of serum CRP and total IgE in allergy-induced asthma acute attack were 2-5mg/L and≥900IU/L respectively.2.The range of the serum CRP concentration in URTI-Induced group and combined pneumonia group were5-16mg/L,≥16mg/L respectively.3.Serum total IgE levels were higher than the healthy children, If the serum CRP level is too high, please pay attention the existence of pneumonia. |
