Objective:Through cross-section investigation, we want to find out the prevalence, characteristic and status of prevention of stasis dermatitis (SD) in soldiers of armed escorts, and then explore new ways and new control strategies to prevent of SD.Methods676 male veterans were collected from guards in Beijing in the period of 1998 to 2008. We carry out a cross-section investigation about SD. Including:questionnaire, physical examination, local microcirculation examination of skin of dorsum of foot, ultrasonography examination of lower extremity. Analyzed these data with CHISS2004.Results1. The incidence of SD in veterans of armed escorts is 2.37%. The incidence of veterans who guarded in the national military institution is 6.36%. The incidence of veterans who joined the army in 1998 to 2008 is 5.00%. The incidence of veterans whose length at least 180cm is 6.57%.2. There are 94 veterans who age from 18 to 24 diagnosed varicose veins of lower extremity. The incidence of varicose veins of lower extremity is 5.78%. According to the report of 1990s, the incidence of 6210 Chinese male who age from 15 to 24 is 3.00%. The incidence of veterans'varicose veins of lower extremity is higher than the common Chinese male.3. Currently, the veterans in the armed escorts who suffered from stasis dermatitis received medication and surgical therapy in hospital. New ways and new control strategies to prevention of stasis dermatitis is scanty.Conclusion1. The incidence of veterans'varicose veins of lower extremity and stasis dermatitis is higher than the general population. New ways and new control strategies to prevention of stasis dermatitis is scanty.2. The incidence is related on the rank of institution where the veterans guarded, time in the forces, length.3. This study supply Epidemiological dates for military hospitals and primary military medical unit.
