Objective:The research aims to approach the active role of Shenfu Injection to postoperative recovery in elderly rectal cancer by observing the effect of Shenfu Injection in gastrointestinal function recovery, Hemorheology and quality of life of elderly rectal cancer patients, the study has important clinical significance to the treatment of elderly rectal cancer.Methods:1. Literature studiesRectal cancer is one of the most common malignant neoplasm in digestive tract. In recent years, the incidence of elderly rectal cancer increased year by year. However, many elderly rectal cancer patients with complications, and poor postoperative recovery characteristics, determine the individual and complex in the course of treatment. Many studies show that the application of Chinese medicine can reduce the clinical symptoms of cancer patients, Chinese medicine have played an irreplaceable role in the treatment of rectal cancer for its unique advantages, especially at the promotion of postoperative recovery, improve gastrointestinal function and enhance immune function, reduce the adverse effects caused by chemotherapy, as well as improve Quality of life and survival rate of patients and so on. Shenfu injection is modified dosage forms from Shenfu Tang which was the Chinese famous and classical prescription. With a variety of pharmacological effects, include Enhance immunity, Protection of Hepatic and Renal function, anti-inflammatory, relieve pain and accelerate surgical wound healing and so on. The previous study has identified that using the Shenfn injection during perioperative period could improve the immune function of postoperative patients, reduce the tissue damage, promote blood circulation and contribute to postoperative rehabilitation.2. Clinical Study45 patients with Dixon postoperative elderly rectal cancer were randomly divided into Shenfu injection group (n=23) and control group (n=22).The patients of Shenfu injection group (abbreviation:SF group) were given Shenfu injection after 2 days of surgical operation, and combined with conventional medicine. The patients of control group were only given conventional medicine.Observe and compare the time of the first flatus, the first cacation and the hospital stay of postoperative patients of two groups; Observe and compare the changes in hemorheology of two groups patients between the day before surgery and the ten days after operation, as well as compare the state of health and the quality of life of two groups patients between the day before surgery and the ten days after operation.Results:1.The comparison in recovery of gastrointestinal function:the first flatus, the first cacation and the hospital stay of the patients of SF groups were significantly shorter than the patients of control group (P<0.05).2. The comparison in the changes in hemorheology of the patients of two groups between before and after surgery:Compared to preoperative patients, the whole blood viscosity (high shear, middle shear, low shear), the whole blood restore viscosity and Fibrinogen of postoperative patients of control group were significantly higher(P<0.05, P<0.01);the whole blood low shear viscosity, the whole blood restore viscosity and Fibrinogen of postoperative patients of SF group were significantly lower(P<0.05, P<0.01). Compared with the control group, Hemorheology of patients of SF group were no significant difference before the surgery (P>0.05); the whole blood viscosity (high shear, middle shear, low shear), the whole blood restore viscosity and Fibrinogen of postoperative patients of SF group were significantly lower than control group (P<0.05, P<0.01).3.The Comparison in the change of state of health (KPS Score):The general health situation of the patients of SF group is significantly better than the control group 10d after surgery. Conclusion:Application of SF after resection of rectal cancer, could reduce blood viscosity, promote circulation and Conducive to tissue and organ function. It could be helpful to recovery of gastrointestinal function, significantly improve the postoperative weakness and obviously lighten the clinical symptoms. At the same time the hospital stay in patients was significantly shorter, so reduced the patient's mental and financial burden too. The results of study have shown that SF could be help to the postoperative recovery of Rectal Cancer in the Aged.
