| Objective To evaluate the effect of SPECT 18F-FDG in diagnosing recurrent ovarian cancer. Methods Forty-six whole-body 18 F-FDG SPECT studies were performed in 41 patients with suspected ovarian cancer. At the same time, the performance of traditional radiologic imaging (US, CT) and CA125 measurement were used. 18 F - FDG SPECT results were compared with the results of conventional imaging, which related to pathological findings, CA125 levels and clinical follow -up. Results 18 F-FDG SPECT examination showed a specificity of 94.7% , a sensitivity of 92.6% , an accuracy of 97.8% for the diagnosis of recurrent ovarian cancer during 6~85 months among 41 cases who had previously received operation and chemotherapy. The coincidence between the results of Ultrasonography, CT, examinations and pathologic finding were 69.6%and 78.3% , respectively. Conclusion 18 F-FDG SPECT may be more accurate and earlier to detect recurrence of ovarian cancer with negative findings of traditional imaging. It is a clinically valuable for post-operational follow - up of ovarian cancer in confirming the recurrent sites early and correctly. |
