Clinical Study On The Treament Of Chronic Nonbacterial Prostatitis

Objective:To observe therapeutic effects of the Chinese patent medicine of prostate soothing capsule,Terazosin, and the combined medication of both medicines on chronic nonbacterial prostatitis.Methods:One hundred and eighty-nine patients of chronic nonbacterial prostatitis were randomly divided to three groups:group A (n=57), Group B (n=63), Group C (n=69).The patients in group A were treated with prostate soothing capsule, three capsules each time, three times a day. The patients in Group B were treated with Terazosin,2mg daily, taken in the evening. The patients in Group C were treated with a combined therapy of both medicines. After the course ended, all patients were followed up for 12 weeks. The NIH Chronic Prostatitis Symptom index score and Urine flow rate were compared before and after treatment.Results:The cure rate of group A,group B and group C was 10.5%,7.9% and 24.6%. The cure rate of group C was significantly higher than that of group A and B (P＜0.05). The treatment effective rate of group A,group B and group C was 70.1%,66.7% and 85.5%. The treatment effective rate of group C was significantly higher than that of group A and B (P＜0.05). Before treatment, the scores of NIH-CPSL, PS, USS, QLS in three groups showed no significant differences (P>0.05). After treatment, all scores were significantly improved (P＜0.05). Compared with group A and B, the scores of NIH-CPSL, PS, USS, QLS in group C were significantly ameliorated after treatment (P＜0.05). MFR and AFR in three groups showed no significant difference before treatment (P>0.05) and were significantly increased after treatment (P＜0.05). There was no significant differences on MFR and AFR between three groups after treatment (P>0.05).Conclusions:The Chinese patent medicine of prostate soothing capsule,Terazosin, and the combined medication of both medicine could provide an obvious therapeutic effects for chronic nonbacterial prostatitis patients, such as PS,USS,QLS,MFR,AFR. The better effects were achieved through a combination therapy.
