Objective:To study the clinicopathologic characteristics of breast cancer in old women elder than 65 years. Methods:The clinical and pathological data of 663 cases with breast cancer from January 2005 to November 2009 treated in the department of pathology in the first ZhuZhou hospital were reviewed retrospectively, 116 cases were selected who were treated in the department of Integrated Medicine, All the patients are female. We analyzed the clinicopathologic characteristics of old women with breast cancer, including tumor size, tumor quadrant, lymph node status, histological classification, expression of estrogen receptor(ER) and progesterone receptor (PR), expression of C-erbB-2, p53, GSTÏ€et al. And we compared the differences between elder patients and the non-elder group. We analyzed the correlation between the expression of C-erbB-2, ER, PR, p53, GSTÏ€with the axillary lymph nodes metastasis of breast cancer in elder group and non-elder group. We analyzed the correlation between the expression of C-erbB-2, ER, PR, p53, GSTÏ€with syndrome pattern of tradtional Chinese medicine of breast cancer in old women. We analyzed the correlation between syndrome pattern of tradtional Chinese medicine with the axillary lymph nodes metastasis of breast cancer in old women.Result:â‘ There was no significant difference in tumor size, tumor quadrant between the elder group and non-elder group. (P>0.05)â‘¡Lymph node metastasis rate in elder group and non-elder group were 29.31% and 49.57% respectively, There was a statistical difference between two groups(P<0.05).â‘¢Expression of ER.PR and C-erbB-2 was associated significantly in elder group and non-elder group. (P<0.05). There were higher positive rates of ER,PR and negative rates of C-erbB-2 in elder group. Expression of p53 and GSTÏ€was not associated significantly with the age (P>0.05).â‘£Patients with stageâ…¢in non-elder group were more than that in elder group, Patients with stageâ… in elder group were more than that in non-elder group, The difference was significant (P<0.05)(5)There was a correlation between the GSTÏ€,P53,and C-erbB-2 with the axillary lymph nodes metastasis of breast cancer in elder group and non-elder group (P<0.05). They express the positive is a risk factor for lymph node metastasis There was no correlation between the expression of ER, PR with the axillary lymph nodes metastasis of breast cancer in two groups (P> 0.05).â‘¥There was a correlation between syndrome pattern of tradtional Chinese medicine and the axillary lymph nodes metastasis of breast cancer in old women(P<0.05). Lymph node metastasis in patients with high blood stasis group. There was no correlation between syndrome pattern of tradtional Chinese medicine and expression of ER.PR, p53, C-erbB-2, GSTÏ€. (P> 0.05).Conclusion:There were lower incidence of Lymph node metastasis rate and higher positive rates of ER,PR,histological classification and negative rates of C-erbB-2 in elder group. There was a correlation between the expression of GSTÏ€,P53,C-erbB-2 with the axillary lymph nodes metastasis of breast cancer in women. They express the positive is a risk factor for lymph node metastasis There was no correlation between the expression of ER, PR with the axillary lymph nodes metastasis of breast cancer in women. There was no correlation between the expression of ER,PR, GSTÏ€,P53,C-erbB-2 with syndrome pattern of tradtional Chinese medicine of breast cancer in old women. There was a correlation between the axillary lymph nodes metastasis with syndrome pattern of tradtional Chinese medicine of breast cancer in old women. Lymph node metastasis in patients with high blood stasis group. We should study further the innate character of syndrome in TCM.
