Objective:Observation on the optic nerve protection efficacy of TQMM No. IV on primary angle-closure glaucoma with different interventions.Methods:60 cases of 108 glaucoma patients were randomly assigned to treatment group A and B,and control group A and B. Group A is surgical intraocular pressure-control group, group B is medical intraocular pressure-control group. Chinese medicine treatment group was given TQMM No. IV, vitamin B1, vitamin B12 treatment; control group was given vitamin B1, vitamin B12 treatment. Statistical analysis of treatment results in visual acuity, visual field, visual evoked potential treatment area before and after comparison, P> 0.05 is for the invalid, P <0.05 is for valid.Result:1.With both two interventions, the efficacy of the treatment group were significantly better than the control group (P <0.05)2. Before and after treatment visual acuity, average visual field photosensitive degree, average visual field defect, visual evoked potential P100 amplitude (μv) and visual evoked potential P100 latency had been improved significantly (P <0.05); differences between treatment group A and B were not statistically significant (P> 0.05); The differences in visual acuity, visual field mean photosensitive degree, visual field mean defect, VEP P100 wave amplitude (μv), visual evoked potential P100 latency before and after treatment in control group was not statistically significant (P> 0.05); control group A and B showed no significant difference (P> 0.05).Conclusions:Chinese TQMM No. IV has a protective effect on the optic nerve under different interventions on the treatment of primary angle-closure glaucoma have optic atrophy treatment, and better than the control group; Using TQMM No. IV after surgery or medication to control intraocular pressure, can improve patients'visual function. The protecting function may be perfomerd by improving better blood circulation, increasing the excitability of nerve cells to prevent apoptosis of retinal ganglion cells.
