Capparis spinosa L. was investigated as research subject in this paper. The main volitile chemical contents, allelopathy effect of stem-water extraction, extraction process of total flavonoids and antioxidation activity in vitro and chemical components of volatimatter have been analysed in this paper. At the same time, a monomer from ethanol extraction of Capparis spinosa L. stem was isolated, purified and structurally identified. The results were described as follows:1. Uniform design was used to optimize the extraction process of flavonolds from Capparis spinosa L. stem. The results showed that ultrasonic-microwave co-assisted extraction was the best method compared with merceration, ultrasonic-assisted extraction and microwave-assisted extraction. The optimum extraction conditions: extraction time 45 min; the ratio of material to liquor 45:1; the concentration of ethanol 90% and the microwave power 311W.2. The experiments of antioxidation in vitro of flavonolds showed that it had strong anti-lipid oxidation capability and reduction power, strong clearance of superoxide anion, DPPH and hydroxyl radical, and certain chelating ability.3. Aqueous extraction of Capparis spinosa L. stem had a strong ability of allelopathy against the seed of radish, Chinese cabbage and ipomea.4. Steam distillation was applied to extract volatimatter from Capparis spinosa L. stem. GC-MS was applied to identify 12 kinds of essential components.5. Separation and purification of ethanol from Capparis spinosa L. stem was performed using TLC and column chromatography, by doing which a kind of white crystal was obtained. The structure of the compound was identified asβ- sitosterol through MS, 1HNMR and 13CNMR.
