Objective To observe the growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF-15) in patients with coronary artery disease, analysis the expression with the coronary collateral circulation formation, coronary lesions degree, highly sensitive c-reactive protein, left ventricular function, we discusses the role of GDF-15 in coronary heart disease. Methods To analysis the material of 182 cases who were done selective coronary angiography in the center hospital of Ttaiyuan in Shanxi province, all the patients were gather arterial blood specimens before coronary angiography. According to the coronary angiography results, all the patients were divided into two groups:CHD group and control group; and CHD group was divided into the ACS group and stable angina group, used ELISA to determin GDF-15 concentration and highly sensitive c-reactive protein concentration, used Rentrop rating criteria to judge coronary collateral circulation degree, used Gensini scoring methods to evaluate the coronary lesions serious degree, and used the UCG to evaluate LVEF values. Results 1. The serum levels of GDF-15 of ACS group was 1378.78±378.86ng/l, the stable angina group was 1034. 51±427.86ng/l, the control was 347.11±341.47ng/l, there was statistically significant differences in three groups (P< 0.01);2. GDF-15 concentration and Gensini score is positively correlated r=0.587, (P<0.01),3. GDF-15 concentration and highly sensitive c-reactive protein were positively correlated, r= 0.534, (P<0.05).4. CHD group GDF-15 concentration and LVEF value was negatively correlated, r=-0.597, (P < 0.05).5. in CHD group, serum GDF-15 concentration of the patient with RentropO level was 852.93±345.87 ng/1, Rentrop1 level was 1180.30±317.15 ng/1, Rentrop2 level was 1505.98±224.88 ng/1, Rentrop3 was 1806.25±161.23 ng/1. The was The serum levels of GDF-15 was positive related with higher Rentrop's grade, r=0.731, (P<0.01),6. Whether there is formed by collateral for the dependent variable, as gender, age, smoking history, high blood pressure, diabetes and coronary heart disease family history, TC and TG, hdl-c, LDL-C, HsCRP, GDF-15 concentration of independent variables for unconditional Logistic regression analysis showed that the collateral circulation formation factors with a history of smoking, diabetes, LDL-C, GDF-15 concentration. Conclusions GDF-15 can be used for early diagnosis of coronary heart disease, evaluation of coronary lesions degree and left ventricular function. GDF-15 can promote coronary collateral formation, contribute for providing a new method in the treatment of coronary heart disease.
