To analyze and compare the lab diagnostic malaria report by microscope detection between the Peacekeeping LevelⅡHospital of China and local hospital. This work aimed to provide the necessary suggestions and guidance to defense the mosquito bite and decrease the Plasmodium infection and to explore the better way for the lab to report the Plasmodium infection in the local hospital.Method:Thick and thin blood smeared slides of 816 persons of Peacekeeping Force who came from China, Pakistan, India and Bengali respectively and worked in Congo (DRC) just one month.690 local residents were used to detect the Plasmodium infection of them. Their working condition and defending methods against the mosquito and malaria were surveyed by using questionnaires. The Plasmodium infection status was evaluated. The way for the lab to report the Plasmodium infection between the Peacekeeping LevelⅡHospital of China and local hospital was compared.Results:(1) The Plasmodium infection rate of target persons was 53.0%(798/1506). The Plasmodium infection rate of the Peacekeeping Force and local resident was 29.7% (242/816) and 80.6%(556/690) respectively.(2) The composition ratio of the Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium malaria and Plasmodium ovale in target persons was 90.7%,0.8%,8.5% and 0% in turn.(3) The Plasmodium infection rate in different age group(0-10,11-20,21-30, 31-40,41-50,51±60, above 60) of local residents was 95.0%(192/202),79.3% (106/121),76.6%(82/107); 71.0%(71/100),66.0%(64/97),62.3%(33/53),80%(8/10), respectively.(4) The infection rate among the Peacekeeping Force came from China was significant lower than that came from Pakistan, India and Bengali (P<0.05). The infection rate among the Peacekeeping Force came from Pakistan was significant lower than that came from India and Bengali (P<0.05) and as well as in Indian was significant lower than that in Bengalese (P<0.05).(5) The infection rate among the persons engaged in medical affairs was significant lower than that engaged in the other affairs (P<0.05).(6) The way to report the Plasmodium infection of the samples with high number of white blood cells in the Peacekeeping LevelⅡHospital of China had higher accuracy than that in local hospital using method 1 (P<0.05).(7) The way to report the Plasmodium infection of the samples with different sizes and pushing slide angles in the Peacekeeping LevelⅡHospital of China had higher stability than that in the local hospital using method 2 (P<0.05). It would be received higher positive rate if the method with bigger size and pushing slide angles had been used. Thus, The infection rate had no significant difference between the method with 20μl-30 and 20μl-45(P>0.05).Conclusion:(1) There exist high infection rate of Plasmodium among local residents of in Congo (DRC). The main strain of the pathogen is Plasmodium falciparum. The enfants is the main group that is infected. All these results are owned to the natural, medical and economic condition of the society.(2) Plasmodium falciparum is the main kind of Plasmodium that infects the Peacekeeping Force persons. The infected reasons link with the affairs that they engag in. The different preventive pleasures should be constructed relying on the affairs characters. The defending methods training against the mosquito and malaria should be strengthened to the Peacekeeping Force persons before they go to abroad and a strictly examination against Plasmodium should be carried out before they back. (3)The systemic pleasure using in the Peacekeeping Force come from China against the mosquito and malaria attribute to their lower infection rate than that in others.(4) The way to report the plasmodium infection in the Peacekeeping LevelⅡHospital of China is very effective to improve the detection rate, and can reflect the real situation of malaria patients in details as well as prevent the error caused by the changing of the number of white cell and the way that makes the blood smear. This will instruct the clinic effectively and accurately. All these indicate that the method of the report of plasmodium infection used in the Peacekeeping LevelⅡHospital of China is better than that in Congo (DRC)'s. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | peacekeeping forces, Congo(DRC), plasmodium, malaria, infection, Africa, diagnostic report | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
