The flexural capacity of artificial blood vessel is improved after the corrugated processing. The corrugated construction stores or releases deformation of artificial blood vessel. So the vessel can avoid blockage when it is bent. But the corrugated processing breaks the uniform texture of common woven artificial blood vessel, and the existing corrugated construction can't show the best flow stability. In order to make the artificial blood vessel have the best flow stability and flexural capacity, a new self-corrugating woven construction was designed.First, a new corrugated construction was chosen which showed the best vessel's performance on flow stability and flexural capacity. The FLUENT software was used to compare the flow properties of 13 kinds of corrugated constructions. The result showed that one model has the best flow stability and flexural capacity. So this model's physical dimension was chosen to be as design consignment of the fabric structure.Second, the values of fabric structure parameters were chosen according to the water permeability. Lower water permeability is an advantage of woven fabric. The relationship between fabric structure parameter and water permeability of artificial blood vessel was built. It was proven that the monofilament fabric was hard to achieve the low water permeability. So multifilament was chosen as the yarn to be woven, and its value is 100D/24f. According to the analysis,400/10cm was selected as the warp density, and 800/10cm as the weft density.And then, in order to get the self-corrugating tubular fabric, a new woven construction was designed, and a double-beam let- off system is needed to weave this construction. Heat setting processing was needed to give the flexural capacity of tubular fabric. The heat setting temperature is 180"C, and the time is 120 seconds.Finally, the flexural capacity and water permeability of the self-corrugating tube after heat setting were tested. Test results showed that the final product met the design requirements.
