Objective:To explore the correlations of activity of Glucos Dehydrogenase (G6PD) with metabolic variables of glucose and lipid of type 2 diabetes. Methods:We conducted a cross-sectional resresearch in the metabolic and diabetic center of the first afaffiliated hospital of Guangxi medical university from January 2010 to August 2010. A total of 420 diabetics were included in our study, aged from 19 to 90 years. In accordance with the diagnostic criteria of type 2 diabetes which construct by WHO in 1999,bring 382 diabetics into our study finally. Anthropometric measurements were performed by trained physicians.Overnight fasting venous blood specimens were drawn. Blood activity of G6PD, Fasting Blood Glucose (FBG), total Cholesterol (TC), HbAlc, Triglycerides(TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-c), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c), Apolipoprotein Al (ApoAl), ApolipoproteinB (ApoB) were measured. Participants were divided into two groups:one is the activity of G6PD descent, while the other one was normal. The spearman correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationships between G6PD and metabolic variables. Then the linear regression analysis was used to evaluate the effect of G6PD on metabolic variables. The final fitted linear regression model was constructed by using a stepwise regression algorithm with an entry probability value criterion of 0.10 and stay criterion of 0.05 for identifying independent correlates of the level of G6PD activity.Results:1,The level of total Cholesterol (TC) was lower in the group which the activity of G6PD was weak (P=0.003).2, G6PD had a significantly negative correlation with FBG, and a significantly positive relationship with TC (all P<0.05).In multivariable linear regression analysis,FBG and TC were the only independent correlates of the activity of G6PD.Overall,the finally model explained 3.3% of the variance in G6PD level.Conclusion:1, FBG may be a influencing factor for Blood activity of G6PD. High glucose can inhibit the activity of G6PD.2, Blood activity of G6PD may be a influencing factor for the synthesis of TC.
