| Objective: Investigate the expression of Interleukin-17( IL-17) and Bone Morphogenetic Protein-7(BMP-7) in nomal and herniated discs, and analyze its role in hernimated discs. Methods: The expression of IL-17 and BMP-7 was tested by immunohistochemistry method ,thirty specimens of hemiated intervertebral disc tissue and ten nomal disc tissue were immunostained with anti human IL-17 and BMP-7 antibody. the experimental group (22 males, 8 females) aged 27--63 years, mean (43. 48±9. 36) years of age including criteria: typical clinical symptoms and signs, and diagnosed by CT and MRI of lumbar disc herniation Disease, MRI showed the signal goes low TW2 nucleus, the control group of 10 patients (4 males, 6 females), aged 10 - 22 years, mean (16. 35±4. 44) years of age. Including criteria: no long-term lumbar and leg pain before surgery history, MRI examination confirmed no significant disc degeneration patients. Computer image analysis system by using samples BMP-7, IL-17 expression, the average gray value. t test between each group IL-17 and BMP-7 expression in gray value differences. Results: The results of average gray scale value of nucleus pulposus in control group were 112.077±4.353 and 103.605±4.696,respectively,169.31±6.596 and 155.545±2.810 in experimental group. There was significant difference between the groups(p<0.01。)Conclusions: IL-17 and BMP-7 are two important regulatory factors in intervertebral disc degeneration. IL-17 may be one of the reasons leading to intervertebral disc degeneration. The increased expression of BMP-7 may be reactive, although the BMP-7 is the protection of disc degeneration factor, but because of the increased expression of BMP-7 may be reactive in nature and therefore does not fundamentally reverse the disc back Change. |
