Objective:To compare the effects of propofol, sevoflurane and propofol-sevoflurane combined anesthesia on hemodynamics and postoperative recovery during surgery for gastric cancer in elderly patients.Methods:Fifty-one ASA I-II patients with gastric cancer, aged from 60~76,were assigned randomly to three groups, propofol group(P group),sevoflurane group(S group),Propofol- Sevoflurane combined group(PS group).Anesthesia was induced with propofol and sufentanil. In P group, Propofol was target controlled infused(TCI)to maintain the state of anesthesia;in S group, sevoflurane was inhaled to maintain the state of anesthesia;in PS group, the target concentration of propofol was maintained at 1ug/ml and the concentrationof sevofl-urane was inhaled according to the depth of anesthesia.Remifentanil was target controlled infused with target concentration 3.5ng/ml in all three groups. The scores of A-line auditory evoked potential index(AAI)was maintained between15~25 during operation.HR,SBP,DBP,MAP,AAI,ETSEV were recorded during the operation. The time periods of eyeopening, extubation, the recovery of orientation, the number of dysphoria cases are also being recorded at last in order to compare the hemodynamics changes and the quality ofawake state. Results:Seven elderly patients were quit for using vasoactive drug.(1)There was no significant difference among the three groups with respect to age, gender, body weight,ASA physical status.(2)No significant difference was found among the three groups with respect to hemodynamic changes(P>0.05).No significant difference was found between T0 and each point(P>0.05). Three general anesthesia methods all could enable the elderly patients undergoing gastric cancer surgery to maintain stable hemodynamics.(3)There was no significant difference among the three groups with respect to the time of eye opening,extubation(P>0.05).But the intervals of orientation was shorter in S group than in P group and PS group(P<0.05).No significant difference was found among the three groupswith respect to number of the dysphoria cases in recovery period(P>0.05).(4)The comparison of three groups the scores of AAI at each time point of recovery period: T6
