Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) with the the characteristicof highly malignant , quickly metastasis and increased incidence havebecome one of the most common malignanciesa which ccounted for 40%of the head and neck malignancy result in high mortality rate. Thedeveloping of tumor is a multi-factor, multi-step complex process and themost salient clinical characteristics is unlimited proliferation. Recentstudies found that CD147 could stimulate tumour cell and fibroblastto secrete large amounts of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPS), whichcould degrade collagen IV in the extracellular matrix and basementmembrane, and to promote the angiogenesis , invasion and metastasis. That is to say CD147 plays an important role in tumor proliferation, infiltration, vascularization and metastasis. As one member of HPSfamily with small molecular weight, HSP27 which is highly express indifferent tumor organs can protect cells and involved in cell proliferationand apoptosis, and then promoting the proliferation of tumor cells. Atpresent the function of CD147 and HSP27 in vascularization andmetastasis of tumor have been became research focus, however therewere few studies in oral squamous cell carcinoma. Objective:To examine the expression of CD147, HSP27 in oral squamouscell carcinoma and normal oral mucosa tissue, combining with clinicalpathologic material, discussiont the role and mutual relations in invasion and metastasis. Wishing to provides a new way for diagnosis andtreatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma.Methods:S-P imrnunohistochemistry was used to evaluate the expression ofCD147 and HSP27 in 40 oral squamous cell carcinoma and 10 normaloral mucosa。To observe the expression and its significances of CD147and HSP27 protein in oral squamous cell carcinoma with age, histopathological differentiation and lymphatic metastasis for furtherstudying the relationship with oral squamous cell carcinoma.Results:1.CD147 and HSP27 is over-expressed in oral squamous cellcarcinoma, but weak or negative in control group. The positive rate ofCD147 expression in normal oral mucosa was 30% and was 80% in oralsquamous cell carcinoma , which are reached statistical significance(P<0.05). The positive rates of HSP27 expression in normal oral mucosaand oral squamous cell carcinoma were 20% and 80% respectivelyreaching statistical significance (P<0.05).2.The expression level of CD147 was not related to the patients'ageand histopathological differentiation in oral squamous cell carcinoma(P>0.05) , but was associated with node status (P<0.05). The expressionlevel of HSP27 was not related to the patients'age and lymphaticmetastasis(P>0.05), but was associated with histopathologicaldifferentiation (P<0.05).3.There was no correlation between the expression levels of CD147 andHSP27 in oral squamous cell carcinoma. The spearman rank correlationcoefficient was 0.233(P=0.149).Conclusions:1.The expression level of CD147 was over-expressed in oral squamous cell carcinoma and expression level had no related to the patiets's age andthe histopathological differentiation, but was associated with node status.2.The expression level of HSP27 was over-expressed in oral squamouscell carcinoma and expression level had no related to the patiets's age andlymphatic metastasis , but was associated with histopathologicaldifferentiation.3.There might be no correlation between the expressions of CD147 andHSP27 in oral squamous cell carcinoma.
