The Clinical Value Of The Serum CEA, Ca199, Ca125 And Cyfra21-1 Levels In The Solitary Pulmonary Nodules

Objective: To explore the clinical value of the serum CEA, Ca199, Ca125 and Cyfra21-1 levels in the Solitary Pulmonary Nodules(SPN).Methods: Retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 50 patients with SPN who were hospitalized in thoracic of Fujian medical university Union Hospital were treated by surgery from January 2008 to December 2009. Compare the relationship between the patient's age, sex, smoking or not, the diameter of SPN, the tumor's position and SPN benign or malignant. Compare the tumor markers level in lung cancer group and benign group. Compare the tumor markers level in different pathologic stages. To analyze the diagnosis sensitivity of CEA and Cyfta21-1 with lung cancer and specificity in lung benign disease group dependently and simultaneously. Analyze whether the levels of CEA, Ca125 and Cyfra21-1 related to the local lymphatic metastasis, whether the diameter of the malignant SPN related to the local lymphatic metastasis.Results: 27 cases were diagnosed malignant (54%) in 50 cases. There were no statistical significance between the patient's sex, the quantity of Smoking, the diameter of SPN and the tumor's position with the quality of SPN (P>0.05). There were statistical significance between the patient's age and smoking or not with the quality of SPN (P<0.05).The levels of the CEA and Cyfra21-1 in lung cancer group were higher than that of the benign disease group, there had statistic difference. But Ca199 and Ca125 had not. The levels of four tumor markers were no statistical significance among the three stages of the malignant SPN. The CEA and Cyfra21-1 to SPN in lung cancer group had high diagnosis sensitivity and the two markers association increased sensitivity. There were statistical significance between the level of Cyfra21-1 and the diameter of the malignant SPN with the local lymphatic metastasis (P<0.05). Conclusion:1 The patient's sex, he quantity of Smoking, the diameter of SPN and the tumor's position cannot be used to differ the quality of the SPN (benign or malignant).But the patient's age, sex, smoking or not and the levels of the serum CEA and Cyfra21-1 can be.2 The levels of serum Ca125 and CEA, Ca199 and Cyfra21-1 were no difference among the three stages of the malignant SPN.3 Combination CEA and Cyfra21-1 can increase the clinical diagnosis value with lung cancer in solitary pulmonary nodule.4 The serum CEA level and the diameter of the malignant SPN related to the local lymphatic metastasis.
