| Objective:Survey the general characteristics and laws of self-efficacy and work values of in nursing student, discuss the relationship between self-efficacy and career values of NS in order to provide theoretical basises for further developing positive self-efficacy and work valuesMETHODS:According to stratified random sampling method, extract 416 undergraduates (all are female) from the Nursing Institute, Chengdu Medical College as the survey objects, use the way of questionnaire investigation which includes general information, general self-efficacy scale(GSES) and work values scale(including intentional work value and instrumental work value) . Use spss16.0 for statistical analysis, the statistical methods include descriptive statistical analysis, analysis of variance and correlation analysis, etc.RESULTS:1. Average self-efficacy scores of nursing students is: 25.4±4.6, 152 person(44.05%)of nursing students who scored less than 25 belong to the low level group. The socres did not differ in grade distribution(P>0.05),but it significantly differed in different kinds of leaders which the students serve as(P<0.05)2. The professional values of NS are marked as following: Prospects of career, achievements of goal, maintenances of family, ethics, interests and personalities ,reputation of salary, welfare requirement, pursuit of social status, promotion of society, relaxation and stability.3. There are obvious differences between the high level group and low level group in position chasing, achievement realizing and society promoting.4. The self-efficacy has a significant positive correlation with status chasing,achievement realizing,society promoting,interests and personalities,ethics,reputation of salary, etc.Conclusion:1.The self-efficacy of nursing students does not differ in grade distribution,which means the self-efficacy of nursing students is not promoted with grades rising. 44.05% of the NS are in the low level group,which demonstrates that almost half of the NS lack confidences and the self-efficacy training should be enhanced. The self-efficacy of student leaders is obviously higher than that of the students who have never served as a student leader. Whether the student is the only child and where the student comes from have little influence on the level of self-efficacy. 2.In the process of seeking professional values,the NS pay much attention to the career development,achievement realizing,etc. which have something to do with personal values realizing. But their social values are ignored. Their means of realizing professional values are on the premise of ethics.3.The higher self-efficacy the NS has ,the process of their career aim will pay more attention to the status, achievement realizing and the promotion of society, and the means of their professional values realizing will more lean to their interests,characters,ethics and reputation of salary.4. The self-efficacy of nursing students has a significant positive correlation with pursuit of social status, achievement of goal, promotion of society, which are the 3 aspects of purpose-career values, it shows that the higher self-efficacy the NS has ,the more attention will be paid to pursuit of social status, achievement of goal and promotion of society. In the meantime, the self-efficacy of nursing students also has a significant positive correlation with interests and personalities,ethics,reputation of salary,which are the 3 aspects of means-career values,it demonstrates that the higher self-efficacy the NS has ,in the process of realizing career values ,the more attention will be paid to interests and personalities,ethics,reputation of salary. In conclusion, it is a fact that the self-efficacy has great effect on career values prediction. |
