Purpose:To explore the cure time after operation, the postoperative complications, breast appearance and the recurrence rate of mammary duct expansion disease with infection treated by regional resection of the mammary and glands plastic. Methods:We stored and collected 106 cases of mammary duct expansion disease with infection by regional resection with glandular forming from May 2007 to December 2010 in our hospital, who were from 20 to 50 years old. There were 54 cases on the left, and 49 cases of right,2 cases of bilateral. The course of disease ranged from 2 weeks to 6 years. The clinical manifestations were skin irritation of 94 cases, skin burst of 3 cases, abscess formation of 5 cases, the fistula formation of 4 cases. There were 5 cases which applied antibiotics before operation and another mastectomy. We observed the average in-patient time, the postoperative complications, and postoperative recurrence rate by telephone for one year.Result:The average treatment time of 95 cases using regional resection was 7.5±4.6 days, which accounted for 89.6% of the total cases. The treatment time was less than 1 week(57.9%),7 to14 days(38.9%), more than 2 weeks(3.2%).There were 102 cases (96.8%) which treatment time was less than 2 weeks.10 cases(10.4%) were abscess drainage and the postoperative healing time was more than one week. The average healing time was 20.5±5.4 days.10 cases were subcutaneous fluid.8 cases were conventional antibiotic therapy. It took 3 days for patients to recover of subcutaneous fluid. Additional 2 cases were indwelled drainage tube due to more than 20ml subcutaneous fluid. We used local pressure and daily medication. Abscess drainage needed 18 days to 2 months. There was 1 case of the shape change. After we adjusted the position of continue pressurization, the breast shape was improved significantly. There were 15 cases which the incision suffered from swelling for 2-3 days and this phenomenon disappeared by antibiotics. No patient experienced an inverted nipple.98% patients were satisfied with the breast appearance. By followed-up after 1 year,5 cases were recurrent. As we known, the recurrent rate was 4.7%.Conclusion:1.Breast regional resection with gland forming is a good method for mammary duct expansion disease with infection, which can remove lesions as far as possible. Meanwhile, It can take shape for the patients whose breast nipple are retracted.2. Breast regional resection with gland forming is a optional treatment for mammary duct expansion disease with infection which can shorten the patient's hospitalization time and reduce the cost.3. The postoperative complications and recurrence rate are reduced using breast regional resection with gland forming.
