Effect Of Medicated Lroning With Fructus Evodiae On Promoting Gastrointestinal Function Recovery After Urology

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect and safety of medicated ironing with Fructus Evodiae on promoting gastrointestinal function recovery after Urology operation, in order to improve the quality of patients'life.MethodsThis was a simple randomized controlled trial. The patients were from Urology Surgery department of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and divided 1:1 into treatment group and control group by simple random method. According to exclusion criteria, there were 21 cases included, of which 11 cases composed treatment group, the rest 10 cases composed control group. Control group:normal therapies like anti-infection, rehydration support, and symptomatic treatment without using gastric motility drugs, lavation and the analgesic in 48 hours after urology surgery; Treatment group:normal therapies and medicated ironing with Fructus Evodiae. Both groups were not allowed to use gastric motility drugs or lavation. Therapies began at the first day after the operation, twice a day at 9 AM and 4 PM. A course was 6 days therapies. Cards were given to the companions of patients to record the time of anal gas passage and defecation precisely. Side reaction and complications were recorded at time during the medication. To establish the database and then take statistical analysis by using SPSS16.0. Measurement data were mean±standard deviation (x±s) for statistics said. Statistical test methods:Changes between the two groups before and after treatment using independent sample t test and rank sum test, the two groups before and after themselves control using paired samples t test, count data by chi square test, ranked data using rank sum test(Ridit test).Results1 The general information of two groups included:gender, age, surgery history, based diseases, defecation history of last 3 months. There was no significant difference(P>0.05), the baselines of the two groups are basically the same before treatment。2 The general information of two groups in this surgery included surgical, the duration of anesthesia and duration of surgery. There was no significant difference(P>0.05), the baselines of the two groups are basically the same before treatment3 Time for the recovery of the first anal gas passage and defecation was shorter in treatment group than that in control group (P<0.05). Also, time for the recovery of the second anal gas passage and defecation was shorter in treatment group than that in control group (P<0.05). It shows that medicated ironing with Fructus Evodiae have good effect on promoting gastrointestinal function recovery after urology operation.4 Side reaction was not shown during the medication.ConclusionMedicated ironing with Fructus Evodiae has certain effect on promoting gastrointestinal function recovery after urology operation. It can improve the quality of patients'life.
