Purpose: We discussed the expression and clinical significance of the HIF-2α(Hypoxia Inducible Factor-2α)and VEGF(Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor)in the RCC (renal cell carcinoma) .Materials and Methods: We collected 110 samples from the patients of our dept who had been executed radical resection or partial resection during OCT 2009 and OCT 2010 .The male had a number of 77.The female had it of 33. They had the ratio of 3/2.Ages'range is during 18 and 77.The average value is 57.4.The tumors set on the right kidney numbered 44. 66 of the tumors set on the left side. There were 89 cases of clear cell renal cell carcinoma, 8 cases of papillary carcinoma and 13 cases of chromophobe carcinoma. All the cases were chosen for no or unknown lymph node or blood metastasis. There scored 64 cases for T1 stage, 41 for T2 and 5 for T3. We had the tumors of Furhman I for 35 cases, Furhman II for 56 cases, and the Furhman II for 19 cases. All of the samples were diagnosed to renal cell carcinoma by the pathology department. We chose 25 health kidney as the control group.We checked these factors in the morphological expression and transcriptional level. We detected HIF-2αand VEGF in 110 tissues of renal cell carcinoma by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR. Results:1.HIF-2αis positive dyeing in the nuclear and cytoplasm around the nuclear. HIF-2αhad a expressing positive rate of 89.1% which had significant deviation with the control group, P<0.001.It expressed a higher positive rate in RCC and chromophobe carcinoma than papillary carcinoma. It also had more intensity in RCC than the others, the deviation had statistical significance , P<0.05. The intensity of HIF-2αexpression had positive correlation with clinical stage, pathological nuclear classification and age, P<0.05.But this factor had no relationship with the gender or sides , P>0.05.2.VEGF is positive dyeing in the cytoplasm.It had a expressing positive rate of 89% which had significant deviation with the control group, P<0.001.It expressed a higher positive rate in RCC and chromophobe carcinoma than papillary carcinoma. It also had more intensity in RCC than the others, the deviation had statistical significance , P<0.05. The intensity of HIF-2αexpression had positive correlation with clinical stage, pathological nuclear classification and age, P<0.05.But this factor had no relationship with the gender or sides , P>0.05.3. HIF-2αand VEGF had much positive relevant expression, P<0.001. Conclusion: HIF-2αand VEGF had higher positive expressing rate in RCC, and may become predicting factors for the RCC patients'prognosis. They even could be patent bioremediation target point.
