Then it has been recorded in The Pharmacopoeia of the PRC as the dry cortex of Magnolia officinalis Rehd. et Wils. or Magnolia officinalis Rehd.et Wils. var. biloba Rehd. et Wils. It can eliminating dampness and phlegm, precipitate qi and relieve fullness. From the literature, chemistry, pharmacology and other aspects, the subject systematically discussed Magnoliae officinalis cortex which is produced in Dujiangyan.1. According to the herbal textual research, we found that Magnoliae officinalis cortex is produced in Sichuan and Hubei whether antiquity or modern times. And Sichuan is the genuine producing area. The best quality of Magnolia which is called as "ziyouhoupu". Magnolia which stir-heating with ginger juice or with decoction of dried ginger can reduce the secondary action of stimulate the throat of human. And increase the effect of harmonizing stomach.2. We finally determined the SOP of Jianghoupu:Firstly, scrap off the outer scurf, remove foreign matters form drugs by washing, soaking with small volume of water, cut into slivers and drying. Then put the dry slivers into pot and stir-heating it with ginger juice.3. Tentatively set the quality standard of Jianghoupu. Added the water-soluble extracts and alcohol-soluble extracts contents to control the quality. Improved the method of determination which has formulated by CP of HPLC. Make the quality standards of Jianghoupu improved and enhaced.4. Introduced HPLC to get the fingerprint of Magnolia and JiangMagnolia. Established the common model of herb and Jianghoupu respectively.5. Carried out the intestinal propulsion, gastric emptying, hot plate, acetic acid writhing, foot swelling and ear welling. Proved that the move qi to soothe the middle theory is very right. 6. Conducted the cleaning research, demonstrated that the way which the ancients did is right.
