Objective To study the difference of parental rearing behavior of depressed mothers with normal mothers, and the difference of children behavioral problems of depressed mothers with normal mothers, and to explore the relation of parental rearing behavior to children behavioral problems.Methods 61 depressed mothers and 60 normal mothers and their children were evaluated with child behavior checklist (CBCL) and egma minnen borndoms uppforstran (EMBU), then the date were used to analyze. To exclude the impact of gene, the children with and without behavioral problems of depressed mothers were evaluated with EMBU.Results The depressed mothers got lower scores than the normal mothers on parental emotional warmth (M1) (p<0.05), and higher scores on excessive interference and protection (M2), refuseal and denying (M3), punishment and seriousness (M4) (p<0.05); The children of depressed mother got higher scorces on total level and others than the children of normal mothers. There had significant differences between the children of depressed mother with and without behavior problems on M1, M2, M3.Conclusions The rearing patterns of depressed mother would be more inclined to excessive interference and protection, refused and denying. The children would be more inclined to behavioral problems. During the children of depressed mothers ,the one with behavioral problems has less positive rearing behavior and more negative rearing behavior than the one without behavioral problems.
