Objective:To compare the clinical curative effects in the treatment of phimosis and redundant prepuce among orthodox circumcision, sleeve circumcision and holy-loop circumcision. Methods: In the 2-year period between January 2008 and April 2010,289 patients underwent circumcision, who are classified into three groups that 86 patients underwent orthodox circumcision(orthodox group),82 patients underwent sleeve circumcision(sleeve group) and 130 patients underwent Holy-loop circumcision(holy-loop group). All the cases were studied prospectively and comparatively. We compared the operating duration, the blood lose, the postoperative pain duration and the postoperative complications among the three groups. Results: In orthodox group, postoperative painful duration( 47.62±13.05 h ) is longer than the other two groups(P<0.05), postoperative infection rate(6.9%),hematoma rate(15.1%) and malformation rate(8.1%) are higher than the other groups(P <0.05). In sleeve group, the operating duration(44.21±10.55 min)is longer than the other two groups(P<0.05) and intraoperative hemorrhagic amount(11.02±2.44ml)is more than the other two groups(p<0.05). In holy-loop group, the operating duration(4.37±1.33 min)is shorter than the other two groups(P <0.05), intraoperative hemorrhagic amount(0.79±0.20 ml)is fewer than the other two groups(P <0.05), postoperative dropsy rate(44.6%)is much higher than the other two groups (P <0.05). The difference between preoperative IIEF score and postoperative IIEF score is significant in orthodox group(P <0.05), but not in sleeve group and holy-loop group(P >0.05). The difference between preoperative TSS score and postoperative TSS score is significant in sleeve group and holy-loop group(P <0.05), but not in orthodox group(P >0.05).Conclusion: Holy-loop circumcision is relatively simple to perform, requiring minimal tissue manipulation. It is quicker, safer and fairly advanced than the other two kinds of circumcisions. Patients who underwent this surgery had very few complications.
