| Objective:Analyzing clinical characteristics,diagnosis and treatment of patients who are with the persistent low-level human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG)Methods:The clinical information of seven patients with the persistent low-level human chorionic gonadotropin was analyzed retrospectively in women's hospital school of medicine zhejiang university from February 2009 to March 2011 and the literatures were reviewed.Results:patient age 22-52 years old, the observation time was 6 to 18 months,serum HCG level was<200IU/L. The last pregnancy was hydatidiform mole in 5 patients, abortion in 1 patient, accidentally discovered in 1 patient. Three of them received chemotherapy, including preventive chemotherapy in 1 patient and 2 courses of chemotherapy in 2 patients. The serum HCG level was persistent low level in the patient with preventive chemotherapy. The serum HCG level of the other 2 patients was normal in 1 patient, and maintained at a low level in another patient after 2 courses of chemotherapy. The serum HCG level in the patient of post-abortion reduced to normal after six months without any treatment. The patient's HCG who was accidentally discovered decreased to normal after 18months without treatment.Conclusions:The patients with the persistent low-level HCG are insensitivity to chemotherapy. Most of them will not go to be malignant,therefore, it must be careful to treat the patients with no evidence of tumor. |
