Clinical Observation On Knee Osteoarthritis With Treatment Based On Combination Of Disease And Syndrome Differenciation

Objective: evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of TCM treatment based on the combination of disease and syndrome differenciation , by comparing curative effect and safety indexes between the treatment group and control group.Methods: collect 60 patients from clinics and wards from 2009.3 ~ 2010.11. The patients were randomly assigned into two groups. 30 in the treated group treated with Chinese herb and 30 in the control group treated with western medicine. After 2 months , we observe the varieties of indexes such as the total efficacy index , the syndrome credits, C-reactive protein (CRP) as well as safety indexes.Results: after the clinical observation of the two groups there is no significant differences between the total efficiency and syndrome indexes(P> 0.05); there are significant differences in the two groups with syndrome credits before and after treatment, (P <0.01), inter-group comparison after treatment in walking pain and arising pain has significant differences in syndrome credits (P <0.05); two groups before and after treatment have significant differences in CRP, inter-group comparison showed no significant difference (P <0.01). The Traditional Chinese Medicine group has a better tolerability than the western medicine group.Conclusion: It is is a kind of effective and safe therapy to treat KOA by means of TCM based on combination of disease and syndrome differenciation .
