Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of festering moxibustion on ulcerative colitis.Methods: 90 cases of patients were divided randomly into two groups, both the treatment group and the control group were 45 cases. The treatment group was treated by festering moxibustion .The control group were given sulfasalazine (SASP). The effect was observed after 60 days.Results: The effective rate of clinical symptoms were:The treatment group:95.12%;The control group:73.47%. The effective rate of repair of mucous membrane: The treatment group:90.24%;The control group:69.39%. The total recurrence rate in two year: The treatment group:12.20%;The control group:51.02%. Comparison between the two groups was statistically significant. Conclusion Festering moxibustion has obvious effect on ulcerative.Colitis: to improve symptoms, promote mucosal repair, and extend the remission period and reduce Relapse raterecurrence.
