Objective:To compare the clinical effect of artificial femoral head replacement and DHS for intertrochanteric fractures of aged people, and evaluate the application value of artificial thigh bone replace for comminuted intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly.Methods:158 elderly patients with intertrochanteric fracture were treated from January 2004 to January 2009.Accoding to the Evans classification, there were 92 cases of typeâ…¢,66 cases of typeâ…£.In one group,93 patients were treated with DHS internal fixation, including 57 male cases and 36 female cases. Their average was 74.9(ranging from 65 to 96).In another group,65 patients were treated with hip arthroplasty, using the long-stem prosthesis with bone cement, including 26 male cases and 39 female cases.Their average was 81.1 (ranging from 68 to 91).To compare the distinction of hospital stay, operation process, functional recovery, and complication in two sets by the statistic software. Results:The hospital stay, operative incision length, intraoperative blood loss, intraoperative blood transfusion, and the postoperative drainage between the two groups have no statistic meaning(P>0.05);While the differences in operation time, bedridden time, functional complication between the two groups are of statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusions:To intertrochanteric fractures of aged people, the long-stem prosthetic replacement is a valuable choice. It can shorten operation time, bedridden time and recover joint function rapidly,so it can decrease complication and improve the quality of life.
