| ObjectiveTo detect the expression of HIF-2αin every clinical stage and pathological grade of epithelial ovarian cancer, To discussion the role of HIF-2αin carcinogenesis, progression and outcomes of epithelial ovarian tumors.Methods(1) A group of patients with complete clinical data of 10 normal ovarian tissue,15 benign of ovarian tumors,12 borderline ovarian tumors and 40 epithelial ovarian carcinomas were selected randomly. S-P immunohistochemistry stain of HIF-2αwas carried out on these samples. Then study the relations between the expressions of HIF-2αand clinical pathological characteristics.(2) Collected into the group of 40 examples of epithelial ovarian cancer took the surgery date as the beginning follow-up date, in March, 2010 for end of the follow-up date. In the follow-up the position time was 14.5 months.Results(1) The expression of HIF-2αwas not found in normal ovarian tissues. The positive rate of HIF-2αin benign of ovarian tumors, in borderline ovarian tumors and in epithelial ovarian carcinomas was separately 33.33% (5/15),75% (9/12) and 80%(32/40). All of the differences were significant statistically (P<0.05). The differences between borderline ovarian tumors and epithelial ovarian carcinomas were not statistically significant (P>0.05). The differences between benign of ovarian tumors and normal ovarian tissues were not statistically significant (P>0.05).(2) The positive rate of HIF-2αinâ… -â…¡andâ…¢-â…£stage of ovarian carcinomas was separately 64.29% (8/14) and 88.46% (24/26). The difference has significant statistically (P<0.05).(3) The positive rate of HIF-2αin G1, G2, and G3 was separately 50%(4/8),77.78%(15/18) and 92.86%(13/14). The differences were significant statistically (P<0.05). (4) 18 epithelial ovarian carcinomas have lymph nodes metastases,22 without lymph nodes metastases, the positive rates of HIF-2αexpression was separately 94.44%(17/18) and 68.18%(15/22). The difference has significant statistically (P<0.05).(5) X2-test analysis showed that HIF-2αwere no statistic difference (P>0.05) in the type of epithelial ovarian carcinomas and the age of the patients.(6) In 40 example ovary epithelium patient, the position life of the patients who had positive HIF-2αexpression was 13.1 months. The position life of the patients who had negative HIF-2αexpression was 18.5 months, the difference has statistics significance (P<0.05).Conclusion(1) The expression of HIF-2αwas not found in normal ovarian tissues. With the development of epithelial ovarian tumors from benign to malignant, HIF-2αexpression increased, which showed over expression of HIF-2αappeared in the early stage of ovarian epithelial cancer, and may play an important role in the development of ovarian cancer.(2) In epithelial ovarian carcinomas the expression of HIF-2αwas correlated with FIGO stage, histological grade and lymph node metastasis. Indicated that HIF-2αmay play the important roles in ovarian cancer genesis, invasion and in metastasis and may be expected to be a new and potential marker in the observation of epithelial ovarian carcinomas.(3) The HIF-2αexpression positive patient's position life was smaller than the expression negative patient, prompted that HIF-2αhas the vital clinical significance to the judgment prognosis. |
