Xu Fuguan Cultural Philosophy Research

Mr. Xu Fuguan is a great intellectual and patriot with keen insight on serious crisis for the traditional Chinese culture. Because of his teacher-Mr. Xiong shili of " A nation is doomed to pass away with the perish of its culture, He made up his mind to turn himself into the academic field and fought for the Chinese culture. As a modern neo-Confucian, Mr. Xu Fuguan intended to improve or change the people's attitude towards the Chinese culture with his "Modern interpretation" to it and try to rebuild the traditional culture in response to the double challenge from the Western and the Modern.,Which left a rich cultural philosophy.Mr. Xu Fuguan took the Chinese culture as the life of the Chinese nation, and the driving force of national life is the cultural spirit. He experienced with the great desolate feelings with the Chinese culture. In order to open a new path for the Chinese culture which represents the Chinese Confucian, Mr. Xu fu-guan built up his "heart" culture theory with his keen interpretation of the culture spirit ,so that people can rediscover the natural character covered by the modern Western philosophy in China. Facing the problems between the Chinese and the Western culture, he admitted the differences between them, but our main goal is trying to find the common values and learn from each other. Mr. Xu Fuguan thought that the Chinese culture should never be just a footnote to Western theory in China, Only through the faithful study of the theoretical system of the West and combining with the reality of China can we really grasp the essence of Western culture and its true meaning and the Western theories may have its real value.There are still some limitations and shortcomings for Mr. Xu's philosophy exponent of the Chinese culture, However, it's of high ideological, theoretical and practical significance. Mr. Xu's historical culture value for his philosophy is to remind people of the great importance of cultural development and innovation in the process of China's socialist modernization in order to extend the lifeline of our culture and retain their national character and adhere to absorb all of mankind cultural achievements and constantly updated to build China into a rich and harmonious country with a bright future.
