By the means of semantic analysis, we got five typical semantic features of event nouns----[participant/agent/patient] [process] [simplicity and complexity] [concreteness and generality][social influence]. We attempts to classify event nouns according to syntactic features and semantic features at the same time and select its members in this way.In reference to Chinese event nouns, we attempts to find out event nouns in English and summarize syntactic frameworks in which event nouns appear and classify them. Cross-language comparison was made to explore the difference of event nouns between Chinese and English. The primary concern of this paper is the difference of syntactic features of event nouns and classification of its members between Chinese and English. We think nouns with meaning of process can be classified into four types----dynamic noun, act noun, action noun and event noun. And there are two types of event nouns-typical event noun and action noun. [social influence] is the most important semantic feature for the transformation between typical event noun and action noun.
