Research On The College Students' Tendencies Of Internet Addiction And Its' Relationship With Life Events And Online Social Support

Internet addiction is one of the hottest spot of the psychological research recently. But the unified diagnostic criterion of internet addiction has not yet formed in academe circles, the existing diagnostic criterion are also in dispute. So This article uses "tendency of internet addiction" to study the relationship of life events, online social support and the tendency of internet addiction, aiming to discuss the influence of life events, online social support on the internet addiction and their forecasts to the tendency of internet addiction of college students in normal internet application, so as to provide empirical guidance for the prevention of internet addiction.This article select 696 college students from three colleges in Changsha, and use the CIAS-R, Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Check List, and Online Social Support Scale to investigate and analyze the internet addiction of college students, the results is following:(1)The tendency of internet addiction for college students has the significant difference in gender, grade, professional and school type. Male college students have higher tendency than the female; Arts college student have higher tendency than the science college students; the vocational technical school students have higher tendency of internet addiction than the others.(2) As for the college students in different degree of internet addiction tendency, they have the significant difference in the gross score of life events factor, relationships factor, punished factor and other factors. Students with high tendency of internet addiction are more likely affected by the negative life events. The regression analysis shows the relationships factor and other factors of life events can forecast the tendency of internet addiction to some extents.(3) As for the college students in different degree of tendency of internet addiction, they have the significant difference in the emotional support, instrumental support and company of the social support. The regression analysis shows the emotional support factor and instrumental support factor of online social support can forecast the tendency of internet addiction to some extents.(4) The tendency of internet addiction is the consequence of a lot of factors'affections directly or indirectly. Life events, online social support can directly predict the tendency of internet addiction. Life events can also predict the tendency of internet addiction indirectly through the online social support. By using path analysis, it was found that:the relationships factor have the greatest impact on predicting the tendency of internet addiction.
