| Lord John Russell was a famous statesman of England in the middle of the 19th century. He was a member of the Whigs and an important founder who created the Liberty Party. Lord John Russell made great contribution in the first parliamentary reforms.Russell was not only a very good statesman, and still a good historian, the book named "from Henry VII reign to modern history of British political system"which was published in 1821 made him a great Whig historian. The Whigs historians were an important modern British literature field faction, and Russell was a pioneer important figures.This paper attempts to discuss the background of how Russell's idea of history formed from his growth course, and then analyzes the main contents and features of his historical idea. At last this paper will make its preliminary evaluation through the consistency of the political and social reform and whose historical idea.This paper is made of four sections.
