The Impaction Of Parental Rearing Patterns On Coping Style Among College Students

Life position refers to one's basic ideas and feelings about oneself and others. including cognitive and affective factors.It is closely related to parental rearing patterns, and influences one's coping style and mental health..University students are social hope, their quality is linked with our motherland's future. How is their life position? How does life position influence coping style? Do different life position make different life? Study on these questions have a significant meaning .The present research investigated systematically the characteristics of the university student's life position,based on native culture as a background and the university students as the research object .Further,This study examines the relationship of the life position and parental rearing patterns and coping style among university students. This research adopts the College Students'Llife Position questionnaire, Coping Style questionnaire and S-EMBU-C, through 490 university students of questionnaire investigation and data analysis, the following conclusions:1. The revised scale of life position for Chinese university students is formed by two dimensions: self-concept and others- concept. The total dimensions and questionnaire survey has good reliability and validity index and can be used as a measurement of university students' life position of effective measuring questionnaire.2. There is no significant difference on life position among university students by different genders,grades,majors or areas ; A remarkable difference on life position between single-child and non-single child college students.3. Parental rearing patterns, life position and coping style among university students are are in remarkable correlation between opposite.mother rejection dimension of parental rearing patterns can forecast self-accusation and fantasy dimension of coping style; father emotional warmth can forecast life position positively, mother rejection can forecast life position negatively; life position can forecast all the dimensions of coping style.4. Life position has remarkable mediation effects between"mother rejection"and self-accusation, between mother rejiection and fantasy dimension of coping style .
