There are idioms in glossary system of various national languages.The vitality of Idioms is still very exuberant as a way of expression which is welcomed by Chinese people. The idioms are still used frequently in Chinese's written and spoken language.It is well known that the population of foreigners who come to China is increasing year by year. And there are many foreign children who come to China along with their parents and start to learn Chinese here. According to the critical period theory of language learning, these foreign elementary students have their own superiorities and characteristics about Chinese-learning. And they are also different from other type's foreign students about Chinese idiom's study. Different from those foreign students who began to contact and learn idioms after their Chinese came to senior stage, these foreign children may prematurely came into contact with the Chinese idioms, such as in the public primary school, or in the extracurricular counseling time. Therefore idiom-study natural became one of the key and difficult points for their Chinese learning, teachers should give more attention and research in this respect.The study objects of this article were mainly those foreign elementary students who came to study Chinese and their Chinese proficiency was at the primary or intermediate stage. After analyzing the characteristics of foreign elementary students, I obtained that they can definitely start to study idioms in this stage which is better. And appropriate method on the idiom teaching for them was also proposed, finally teaching design and experiments were carried on and the experimental result was also analyzed.
