The historical novel, LI ZI CHENG, written by YaoXueyin, is in the making of 42 years, covering almost all the important stages of the modern literature development. It is considered the beginning work of Chinese modern long historical novel. This thesis started from the creation of LI ZI CHENG, from the point of view of genetic research of the novel. By considering such three aspects as the former version of this novel's creation, the interactive relationship between the environment and the background of the making of the novel, as well as the writer's changing notion, we can analyze how the great work successfully came into the shape in the complicated multi-literature environment, and the interactive effect between outer environment and the procedures of the making of the novel.The necessity and significance of genetic research of the novel is illustrated by three aspects in the introduction. First, it offers a summery of the novel's creation and it provides the summary's classification. Second, it drew a conclusion, i.e. the research of the novel LI ZI CHENG is mainly forced on its version interpretation and creation course, while the research of the novel's creation motivation is rarely seen. Third, it gives a brief introduction to the theory tools applied in the thesis, which is the French critic Pier Mark Derbeyache's version genealogy. The genealogy psychology he established offering the introduction of the origin and intension of theories.The point of tangency of the first part of the introduction is genealogy's theory, by analyzing the former version of the novel, it shows that former version is of great significance and far-reaching effect to the novel's creation. It can be classified to three points. First, the historical file accumulation and the research of Yao Xueyin. Second, it absorbed and used as a source of reference of literature of the same subject as the work LI ZI CHENG. Third, his other works of this subject and theses creation. These three aspects consist of the former version of creation genealogy system, which also influence the novel's version genealogy from the beginning stage of its creation.The second part of the introduction is about the effects of history environment upon creation, they can be summarized into four aspects. First, it is the general socialist spirits upheld then. Second, it is the effects of political trend of thoughts. Third, it is the literature environment. Forth, it is Mao Zedong's influence. It showcased the close and interactive relationship between the creation of the novel and history environment in a social, political, literature and personal willpower view.The third part is to analyze the important links and effects between the writer's idea and version genealogy by showing the writer's creation notion. It can be concluded into the following three points, the links between modern idea, history awareness, tragic awareness, notion alternative and the novel's version genealogy. These sides are the point of contacts of important factors effected the development of the novel's version, which explained how the writer'thoughts affect its work in different stages of time.The conclusion, through the research of genealogy, revealed the way Li Zicheng interpreting history, how to reach a common ground with the needs of mainstream way of thought, and how the creation stage transforms to the typical revolutionary literature version. The thread of such a research is to dig and arrange the literature documentation hidden in the history. And through the theatrical analyze of the process of novel's creation, we can get the reference of the research to the entire development of the modern literature. At he same time, the function of the radical reform in the intelligent archaeology view can be achieved.
