Two experiments are carried out in this research, the purpose of experiment 1 is to verify whether subjects can produce a related false memory in DRM paradigm, and whether there are any differences in the related false memory between individuals who have different spans of digit short-term memory. Background music is regarded as an independent variable in experiment 2, which selects happy and sad classical music. The purpose of experiment 2 is to explore fatherly whether music can restrain false memory and promote memory effect.This thesis adopts experimental method to research related false memory, using DRM research paradigm. Subjects are freshman who are from Human Science Department of Shenyang Sport University, 120 people in total. Results of experiment 1 tell that DRM paradigm induces subjects into related false memory, and span of digit short-term memory doesn't affect related false memory. Results of experiment2 tell that there is no significant difference between false recognition rates of different kinds of background music, but in the part of correct recognition rate of studying words, subjects'scores under happy background music are better than subjects under sad background music.In general, we can draw the following conclusions in this research: (1) Span of digit short-term memory of individual tends to increase. Span of digit short-term memory doesn't affect accurate recognition of words, but also doesn't affect false memory level. (2) Subjects produce related false memory in DRM paradigm. (3)Types of words interact with background music, types of words have significant differences in all levels of background music, but background music has significant differences only in rates of affirmative reaction of studying words. Rate of true recognition under happy background music is better than that under sad background music. No matter happy or sad background music, music doesn't affect the rate of false recognition.Finally, the research provides the following suggestions: (1)The level of digit memory cannot objectively reflect individual memory level in some intelligence tests or talent selection. We may further use the method of memorize words to inspect comprehensively one's memory level. (2) People should understand the essence of related false memory when he memorizes meaningful materials, thus consciously reducing the rate of related false memory. (3)In school, appropriate music background can be applied to teaching, in classroom for individual study, to increase students'learning efficiency, cultivate imagination and creativity, promote students in relating positive emotion elicited by music with learning experience, enhance student's enthusiasm and initiative for studying, arouse and preserve students' favorable studying interest.
