Research On Wang Chong's Small Regelschrift Calligraphy

Wang Chong(1494—1533year)is a very famous calligrapher of " Calligraphy school of Wu Men" in the middle of Ming Dynasty. His Calligraphy is well-known at running script , cursive script and small regelschrift Calligraphy in the world, Among them, the small regelschrift Calligraphy is the best . Object of study in this thesis is the small regelschrift Calligraphy which writed by Wang Chong in age from 23 to 40.Because Wang Chong died in the middle age, the style of small regelschrift Calligraphy was not to work on perfecting. This thesis will provide the experience and the enlightenment for production of small regelschrift calligraphy through the research for the reason of Wang Chong's small regelschrift Calligraphy, the stages and characteristics of Wang Chong's small regelschrift Calligraphy, the status and the high value of Wang Chong's small regelschrift Calligraphy in modern society. This thesis will enrich the research of Wang Chong's small regelschrift Calligraphy.Firstly, this thesis will research for the reason of Wang Chong's small regelschrift Calligraphy from the factor of Period, Family,learn from Ancient calligrapher, contemporaries and individual. Secondly, this thesis through the view of style of Wang Chong's small regelschrift Calligraphy, divided Wang Chong's small regelschrift Calligraphy works into four groups: In front of 25 years old as the first period;26 to 29years old as the second period;30 to 38 years old for the third period;39 to 40 years old is the fourth period. Thirdly, this thesis sum up four styles of Wang Chong's small regelschrift Calligraphy: fresh and pure; sparse and implicit; funny and gesticulative; emotional and lyrical.Finally, this thesis summarize Wang Chong's small regelschrift Calligraphy is a forerunner on"Ming dynasty and Qing dynasty valued'pose'"in the history of Calligraphy.
