Task-based approach,which puts emphasis on"learning by doing",has attracted worldwide attention.This teaching method stirred a great interest from Chinese and overseas, and has been considered as one of the most effective educational theories since 1980s. Task-based approach classroom focuses on tasks, and students are required to accomplish the task using their language skills. At present, within the scope of task-based foreign language teaching and research, there are few researches on Chinese language teaching, especially foreign language oral teaching.On the basis of literature review, this paper analyzes the characteristics and principles of task-based approach, reviews relevant researches and some of the problems existing in the process. The paper adopted questionnaires and observation methods to explore the application of task-based approach in intermediate oral foreign language teaching and the feasibility and effectiveness of this approach used for sophomores in Vietnam Taiyuan University.This study used the laboratory-based, combined with survey research, conducting empirical investigations on Taiyuan University of Chinese language teachers in Vietnam, and Chinese students in the intermediate stage of professional. It includes experimental design, pattern, process, examples and detailed data analysis to get deeper understanding of teaching status of Chinese language teachers in Vietnam, Taiyuan University and further discuss the unique Chinese language teaching in Vietnam under the conditions, the implementation of task-based teaching in a number of obstacles.This paper describes the design of classroom instruction combined with relevant theory and spoken foreign language teaching in the specific characteristics of the task-based approach in the introduction of foreign language and oral teaching. According to the characteristics and principles of task-based approach, the author designs a Chinese Intermediate Spoken lesson.The author hopes that the research can provide foreign language teachers with teaching practice and materials, and useful help for the development of Chinese oral teaching, and attract more attention to study and practice in task-based teaching model.
