Study On Jidi Majia's Literary Thought

Jidi Majia is one of the contemporary famous minority poets in China. Furthermore, he published a lot of critical articles on literary theories. The unique value of his literary thought can be discovered in his articles.The present study is designed to analyze and discuss Jidi Majia's literary thought.The present study is made from four perspectives.The first part provides an introduction to the background of Jidi Majia, the significance of the study, previous studies and relevant background information of the present study.The second part discusses Jidi Majia's mission of literature. Firstly, national consciousness of nationality should be highlighted in literature. According to Jidi Majia, writers should be quite conscious of his own nationality. Thus, they would show great pride in their nationalities and have a sense of responsibility and missions to their nationalities. Moreover, they might strengthen understanding of their own nationalities and investigate the characteristics of them thoroughly. Therefore, the focus of their writing would switch to the real life and to their own hometowns, where they were born and grew up. The articles with characteristics of region and nationality would be created. Secondly, literature should pay much attention to human destiny. The writers should highlight their consciousness of nationality but not be constrained by that. They must emphasize their own nationalities as well as the human. In other words, it is an ultimate concern for human destiny.The third part is mainly about Jidi Majia's attitude toward development of literature. One is to inherit the writers' traditional nationality culture and to improve the quality of national literature. In order to obtain the all-round development of Chinese literature, the development of the minority literature absolutely can not be ignored. Writers live in the atmosphere of the nationality culture, which is permenated in themselves and it will be their first choice of creation. However, the minority culture is being surrounded and eliminated nowadays, which result in writers' much awareness of serious problems in minority culture. So they attempt to inherit minority culture via their own literary works, which has become minority writers'sacred mission. Minority culture is the root of one nationality. When minority writers are creating, they emphasize their own culture that is different from others', which could reflect their own traditional culture. Those show the unique of their productions. The other is to absorbe the multivariate essence and to establish the national literature field. The literature practice consistently suggest that development of literature should absorb in other nationality literature and culture based on writers' own traditional culture. In Jidi Majia's view, that is cultural diversity, writers should absorb the essence of Chinese literature and foreign culture in the process of writing.The last part reveals contemporary significance of Jidi Majia's literary thought. It mainly discusses the value of Jidi Majia's"realism"literary thought and its implication for contemporary national criticism.
