The aim of drawing curriculum is to train the visual modeling ability of the students. It is also the foundation for developing qualified art educators.Though current drawing teaching curriculum in China has been undergone several reforms, and been added many new contents as well got some achievements, it changes little. The dominate idea and curriculum settings are still on the track of the 1950s?mode, which mainly is the Socialism Realistic from Soviet Union. This unchanged mode causes the backwards of the current drawing teaching curriculum in China. It holds up the development of the personality, creativity and imagination of the newly burned youth facing to the 21st century for some extent. It is also disadvantageous for their development on their future major. If it bears up, it will even bring some negative influence on their attitude to art.Today is a highly informed and computer webbed time. Fresh space and free environment enrich the thoughts of the youth as well widen their views. The brain of the young students is full of illusion and creativity. It is impractical and unwise if educators still use the 19th century?s standard.This article is trying to analyze the current circumstance and problems existing. At the same time try to find how to combine some new modeling ideas in world modern art with China drawing teaching curriculum.
