Of all the structures of modern Chinese, the attributive-centred structure is much complicate linguistic form. It has heterogeneous relations with parts of speech, bringing about the possible inner identical form with the subject-predicate structure and adverbial-centred structure. This complexity makes it an obstruction to 'language comprehesion'. The information processing circle feels at loss what to do, and the case grammar even lay it aside and neglect it. Starting from the first step of realizing language comprehension-removing ambiguity, HNC comes up with a series of processing methods and strategies, expecting to push the 'comprehension' of this structure to a new stage.HNC theory is Mr Huang Zengyang's creative accomplishment after eight years of devotive probing and painstaking frame conveiving. Rooted in deep structure of language and based on semantic expression, it conceives a series of proper natural language statement and processing mode, uncovering a new chapter for natural language comprehension and opening up a vast new world. This thesis is to probe into the Chinese attributive-centred structure and to do language research based on the train thought of HNC theory.Employing the new theory of HNC to study a traditional subject in linguistic world, this thesis is divided into four chapters. Chapter one gives a brief introduction to the basic theory of HNC and relative terms. The basic theory of HNC embodies two theoretical frame structure, such as sequence of partial association and the sequence of overall association. And the relative terms chiefly involves in types of sentence, semantic block, sentence transformation, element compounding, and inner compound construction of semantic block. Chapter two begins with the definition of attributive-centred stucture and semantic classificationset by the Chinese study circle, and makes more meticulous classification based on what Mr Huang divides the attributive-centred structure into two and gives the motivaton of classification from the angle of frmalization. Chapter three discusses the corresponding of all forms of attributive-centred sturcture to those types under the HNC frame structure. The attributive-centred structure is according to the division of syntactical functions and morpholoical features that help to determine a part of speech. From the two different aspects of HNC and linguistic circle, chapter four makes a contrast study to a special form of Chinese attributive-centred 'N+V attributive-centred structure. In summary, this thesis tries to apply HNC theory to the study of Chinese attributive-centred structure and the practical linguistic problem, leading the new HNC to the field of language study, aiming to initiate that language study must more consciously serve language comprehension so as to develop its duely significant rule in the applying study of language and characters.
