| All languages are developing always, and being one of the major languages in  the world, the Chinese language can not be an exception. After the adoption of the opening policy, the Chinese language is developing at  a much faster speed, and the English influence is one of the important factors that  accounts for the development of Chinese. This dissertation tries to explain the  changes of the current Chinese language under English influence and studies the  relationship between these changes and translation work. This dissertation contains five chapters altogether. The first chapter is an in-  troduction, which gives some brief knowledge of language, and summarizes the  content, the research methods and the significance of the dissertation. The second  chapter clarifies the relationship between language and translation. The third  chapter, which is also the main part of this dissertation, studies in detail the English  influence on Chinese from three aspects of language: pronunciation, vocabulary and  structure. The fourth chapter gives a discussion on the English-Chinese translation  problems related with the English influence on Chinese, mainly focusing on the  problem of the "Western-styled translation" And the fifth chapter is the conclu-  sion of this dissertation. |
