They also objected the standpoint that the poetry is a feeling. They thought that poetry conveyed the intelligence and put forward the idea of empiricism.The construction of imagery made the modem poetics of imagery become maturity. Because the Jiu Ye school believed that human life was a drama, they posed an idea that poetry should be manifested by dramatic form. Basing on this, they built a dramatic criticism.The poetry of Jiu Ye school was a Chinese modernism, its poetics was Not only deeply influenced by the western modernism but also developed between the tradition of classical and modern poetics and its historical situation. Because of the comprehensive consciousness, they achieved overall innovation in the history of modern poetics.
