In our country two million Jiandu have been unearthed, which has offered a abundant materials for researches on China's ancient history. In Northwester part of Fengshui in Han Dynasty Some books also have been unearthed. But most of them touched on only the surface in this field, so scholars attached little importance to them. From the perspective of cultural research and qualification, the author based on cultural activities reflected in a great number of books and garrison, attempts to make us have a knowledge on official system and their cultural qualification. There are five parts in this paper. The first part is for word, introduce research condition. The second part concentrate on the study activities of garrisons, which mainly covers three parts, through research we find among the Hanjian which were unearthed in our country, Cangji and Jijiou play an important role. Zishu was already popular in Han Dynasty, cultural acquirement had existed among garrisons, including officials at a lower level. The third part focuses on garrison's study at higher level, which is composed of three parts. This demonstrates there books had been spreaded to frontier fortress area which enabled garrisons to study at a higher level. The fourth part elaborates on officials at a lower level their cultural qualification, which is made up of two parts. 1. The role book's record play in garrison's life. 2. The cultural qualification of officials at a lower level. We discover that in garrisons' life, book's record played a decisive role in organizing, controlling and managing cultural qualification. It was garrisons who took records in document. Garrisons had such abilities as "capable of writing", "accounting" "having an knowledge on low and calendar".The last part comes to the conclusion: For lack of garrison in frontier fortress area, officials were chosen from garrisons who were capable of remembering books. Garrisons always based on books as Cangjie and Jijiou in the hope of becoming officials. It shows that in frontier fortress area, people attached great importance to cultural learning.
