In over two thousand years of feudalism, under the restriction of "sang cong si de ",Chinese women had difficulty in taking a step. This situation can't be simply considered as the result of the transition of the society, in patriarchal society , man's social position got higher and higher , on the other hand, women's got lower and lower, it must be mentioned that this was a complexe process . In 《Mu Shi》 ,King zhou wu contributed one of King Sang Zou's sins to "believe in wonen". He also quoted predecessor's words to summarize King Shang Zou's losing his country, which is " A hen never cries out, if it cries out ,its owner's family will fall into a decline." Wei kong zhuan said ":the words is a metaphor of women's taking part in politic activity, if a hen cries out instead of the chick . its owner's family will fall into a decline, if a woman master the politic power ,the country will be ruined."People in Zhou Dynasty thought it was because King Shang Zou lived in a immoral life that led to women' s intervention in politic activity. But, in inscriptions on bones or tortoises and interrelated documents, we can find out that in Shang Dynasty, it was common for noble women to take part in politic activity. Such a divergence suggested with the development of the society, a deeply difference took place in women's social position between Shang Dynasty and Zhou Dynasty .
